Proposal Management Plan – When you are proposing a project, you need to provide more explanation about it to break down all the goals, procedures and objectives, which can be covered by writing a management plan. While not all proposals should have a management plan, you need to decide whether or not your proposal needs a plan and how to make it.
1. Management Plan Elements. A management plan consists of the goals and objectives of the project in an outline completed with what should be done in achieving them. In order o to some actions to reach the goals, there should be some personnel to include and each of them has their responsibilities and roles. Changes might be made on the process of reaching the goals, so it should be also stated. Some processes in maintaining some equipment and a timeline consisting of the phases in the project are needed too. If in case there are some modifications needed in the project, you need to provide the process of handling them. Put some impacts of the project as the things to consider and state them in your management plan. You can also add more issues depending on the type of project.
2. Organizational Chart Display. Display the information about the people that will work for the project completed with their roles. Since there might be some changes and evolution related to the roles and responsibilities during the project, this information should be included as well. Describe and list all the personnel with the responsibilities in a chart are a good way.
3. Possible Collaborations. When a project is planned, other organizations or businesses are sometimes required, so you need to state it in the plan. If the collaborations include the existing organizations you already collaborated with, then you need to provide some explanations of why the collaborations should be continued. It is necessary to maintain good communication with the collaborators by deciding whether it is a weekly or monthly meeting that should be created just to ensure all the organizations contributed to the project can connect regularly.
4. Equipment Maintenance. Maintaining the equipment used for the project is also necessary to state in the plan. There are some questions to answer when it comes to providing the equipment maintenance information including how it will be acquired, who will use it, what to do to advertise it and where it will be stored. You can also add other necessary information as long as they are needed.
5. Timeline. Provide an explanation about the phases of your project with a timeline. Describe each phase with the objectives that should be achieved and the evaluations and meetings that would be set along with the expected outcomes.
6. Covering the Funding Requirements. A successful management plan should be able to attract agencies or organizations for providing funding to start the project. Funding would be given only if your project consists of some actions that are aligned with the goals. The outcomes of the project should be also beneficial to be later used in research and it should provide benefits to a certain population.
To make it easier, get some templates and modify them to suit your needs. The sections are usually similar to one another, but you need to make the content differently depending on your project.
